IN:SITE opens a yearlong art initiative along Fond du Lac Avenue in Milwaukee June 29th and 30th. This will be IN:SITE’s most interconnected installation. With major support from the City of Milwaukee Neighborhood Improvement Development Corporation, the project will make the twenty blocks from 17th to 37th Street more attractive.

Temporary public art reflects the unique qualities of a specific place. It employs innovative design strategies and materials. Temporary public art generates discussion on topics relevant to urban neighborhoods.
What has IN:SITE done?
IN:SITE projects are sensitive to issues of place. It engages local communities while in dialog with international contemporary art. Located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, IN:SITE has curated, managed, promoted, and maintained temporary public art in six-month cycles since the spring of 2006.
How does IN:SITE work?
IN:SITE connects artists and communities. It collaborates with residents, organizations, businesses, and government to develop long term relationships. It provides opportunities for artists to expand their studio practice and explore public venues.
